Design of Composite Disc Spring for Automotive Suspension with using Numerical Simulation

This paper investigates the replacement of a conventional steel coil spring with composite disc aim minimizing its weight. Simulation in CAD system Siemens NX 12 was used to determine spring’s behavior. The regression functions were stated based on numerical simulation. Based solution minimum weight found using software programmed Matlab. prototype discs manufactured from carbon fibre prepreg. Their load-deflection characteristics tested and compared designed values. experimental results show that this reduces by about 30% case.
